Yard Waste & Bulk Items
Yard waste, leaves, and limbs
Since July 1, 2014, residents call Public Works at 336-258-8915 to schedule a pickup.
- For single-family homes and special residential units.
- Up to four cubic yards per resident each week.
- Bag yard waste in plastic bags of 50 pounds or less.
- Limbs no more than 3 inches across and 6 feet long. Piles no more than 50 pounds, 4 feet high, and 4 feet long.
- No tree trunks over 4 inches across. No stumps.
- Bag or box leaves in loads one person lifts, up to 20 bags a week.
- November and December: rake leaves into loose piles behind the curb, free of debris, never in the street, gutter, or ditch.
More than half a truckload: Public Works leaves a door hanger. Another option is the truck policy: $30.00 goes on your utility bill, the truck arrives, you load the truck, and Public Works picks up the truck the next business day. Expect a wait of up to one week. The Town has two dump trucks.

Bulk item pickup week is the third full week in April each year.
